Episode Description:

This is our Halloween Special Spectacular!

We watched and will review three recent horror movies. They’re all recent, under the radar, and currently streaming on Netflix. These films include We Are What We Are (a movie about cannibals that is actually less optimistic than the title would have you believe), Housebound (a movie that is suspenseful, engaging, and funny…in that weird, New Zealand kind of way), and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (the Iranian vampire movie that the internet told you to like last year).

We also count down our five personal favorite horror movies of all time.

Show Notes:

We Are What We Are is about cannibals. It starts slow but finishes strong.

Housebound is an overlooked gem in the genre.

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is a movie you might force yourself to like (or maybe you’re just into this kind of thing).

During our Top Five discussion, Alex made reference to the Joe Rogan Experience- Episode #680 with Steve Hassan. Hassan is America’s foremost expert on cults, and an ex-member of the Unification Church (Moonies). During the story he tells a story of how the Moonies used The Exorcist to scare members into staying with the cult.
